Hematite is a type of iron oxide. It is considered one of the oldest iron oxide minerals and can be found in abundance around the world. It comes in a variety of colors from silver-grey to reddish brown. Hematite does naturally hold a magnetic charge, but in order to sustain the charge for longer the hematite is heated up for mass production purposes. Mohs hardness of 5.5 - 6.5.
