Obsidian is created when a volcanic flow is cooled very quickly, into what is called volcanic glass. Sheen obsidian is a type of black obsidian that formed gas bubble layers during its cooling process to create layers of metallic reflection. These Obsidian Rounds are a smooth saucer shape, slightly domed on both sides, made of sheen obsidian, and polished to a high shine. The iridescent gold and silver effect changes with how the stone is tilted in the light.
