The bursera graveolens tree is native to Peru and is in the same family as frankincense and myrrh. Palo Santo, translating to 'Holy Stick' has been used as incense and oils since the Inca Empire. It has an earthy, slightly sweet smell.

Light the end of the stick and then extinguish the flame, allowing it to smolder and continue to smoke. Always use with a firesafe vessel to collect the ash, like glass, metal, or shells.
