This large Megalodon fossil tooth comes from the coast of South Carolina. It has dark gray to black coloring with a polished top surface and an intact textured root. The very tip of the crown is smooth, but the edges have weathered serration.

The otodus megalodon is an extinct species of shark that swam and lived in warm oceans globally, from the Miocene to Pliocene eras. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found has been just under 7 1/2 inches long!
