This large Megalodon fossil tooth comes from the coast of South Carolina. The dark brown root is well intact, and the lighter tooth beneath has a significant chip at the tip and along one edge, with otherwise intact serration.

The otodus megalodon is an extinct species of shark that swam and lived in warm oceans globally, from the Miocene to Pliocene eras. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found has been just under 7 1/2 inches long!
